I love Florida! I’ve been here for all but the fist few months of my life and I live for the outdoors, the sunshine, the beach and good book. I attended UCF where I graduated with a degree in mathematics education. Showing students how to make sense of numbers, rules and logic, how to solve puzzles with math and then see the light in their eyes when they finally “got it”, was motivating. It was my profession for years until I found my life-passion working part-time for Stonebridge in 2014 and then full-time in 2015. I love using the same set of skills to show clients how to make sense of their multiple financial accounts, budgets, 401ks; connecting them with principles associated with their finances, sort out their estate plans and insurance issues, and how to solve the puzzle of making it all work for retirement or just regular life and goals. I see the same light in their eyes when they learn that their plan works, or when I help find that one resource they need to make life simpler or discover that they know how to walk toward a better future.

In order to do this well, I worked to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER Professional, so that I had the knowledge to help clients strategize about making their lives and finances work for them. I also obtained my Behavioral Financial Analyst designation so that I am able to navigate the emotions associated with money with clients to encourage them to make better choices. I’ve also added a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation with a focus in the collaborative process so that I can encourage clients as they walk through one of the most difficult processes of life in a way that is healing, hopeful and forward thinking.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my kids in Washington DC and Gainesville. Time spent playing with my grandchildren is always too short and so sweet. I spend some of my free time as an advocate for foster families through my church and a board member for Commission 127, building support teams for families that choose to foster children in their greatest times of need. Read about it here: https://www.c127.org/blog/so-what-if-i-dont-like-cooking Otherwise, you can find me out with friends at a local restaurant, listening to live music, on a beach at sunrise or sunset, or taking my 12-year-old pup, Luther, on a walk.

My financial interest all started in college where I earned a finance degree from the University of Arizona. I worked for a few years in a CPA firm and then my husband and I joined the staff of CRU for 16 years. I found myself, during this time, helping all my single women friends with their finances and I loved it!  I loved to see them understand their finances and make wise decisions. That’s when I knew financial planning was what I wanted to do full-time.

In 2002 the time was right.  I took the training and test necessary to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner.  I still had a deep hunger to learn more, so I also earned my insurance license, became an Enrolled Agent (Tax professional with the IRS), and a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, CDFA®.  I wanted to be fully prepared to help people, especially women going through difficult times like divorce and widowhood.

I was blessed to meet my former business partner, Bill Jones, in 2004.  He was a wonderful mentor who helped me to get an excellent start in the business. In 2007 Stonebridge was born—through varying market conditions, presidential leaderships, and world events our commitment to clients has never wavered. Going to work every day is a joy as I continue to love helping others reach their financial goals.

Outside of the office, I love to spend time at the beach and/or with my family which includes my husband of 40 years, John, our adult daughters,  sons-in-law, and granddaughters.  We are also blessed to live in the same town as both of our mothers and stepfather.

All of us at Stonebridge are committed to helping you plan for your financial future. We look forward to working with you!

Every day I do exactly what I have always wanted to do: help others! For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make a difference in the lives of those around me: to lead, to teach, and to coach. I do all of that and more as an Advisor at Stonebridge Financial Planning Group. My path to becoming an advisor began in 2008 when I was working as an Internal Wholesaler at CNL Securities Corp. I enjoyed and thrived as a member of a successful sales team. Transitioning to the role as advisor has been challenging & rewarding.

Seeing the impact my efforts make on my clients gives me joy. Whether it is a plan for young professionals just starting out or figuring out tax saving retirement strategies for business owners. I love what I do and am constantly honing and learning new skills that allow me to walk alongside clients on their path to financial freedom.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST® professional, I take pride in distilling complex ideas, creating financial plans, and working as part of an ensemble to care for our clients. Since joining Stonebridge in the fall 2019, I have had the pleasure of being mentored by three tremendous women. They support and encourage my desire to constantly learn. I look forward to discovering new and better ways to serve our clients to my fullest potential while satisfying their needs.

After excelling at Winter Park High School, I enrolled in the University of Florida for undergraduate, and eventually graduate studies. I am one of the rare born and raised Floridians! My husband, Rex, and I are Gator football season ticket holders – go Gators! Sports have always been and always will be important to me. My time at Winter Park High School was wonderful, in large part due to my participation in athletics, specifically water polo. I continued playing water polo at UF and have been a coach at Winter Park High School since 2006. I still play with a master’s program that I coach and spend as much time in the water as possible! I feel fortunate to be able to give back to the community where I was raised, and I look forward to continuing doing so for many more years.

Water polo is not the only thing that keeps me busy outside of the office, I also love spending time with my family, including our two rescue dogs, Tuck & Birdie. Rescuing dogs and giving them a better life has made my life better. I am passionate about helping animals in need and support local organizations that feel the same.

“When you learn, teach. When you get, give.” – Maya Angelou. I like to think I embody Angelou’s sentiment – my hope is I will make a positive impact on the lives of all those that cross my path whether by teaching them some small thing or giving them something they need!

My interest in personal finance began at an early age when my dad taught me how to balance a checkbook and live on a budget. My love for finance and numbers drove me to pursue degrees in Actuarial Science and Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Go Badgers! After passing a few actuarial exams and gaining experience in the corporate world, I quickly realized that I wasn’t living out my greatest desires of building relationships and helping others. Instead of continuing to stare at Excel spreadsheets all day, I embarked on a 10-year journey in the non-profit industry that led me to the realization that I can connect with and serve others while walking alongside them on their financial path.

Fast forward to April 2021, when I had the privilege of joining the amazing Stonebridge team that you know and love. It has been an honor to work alongside a thriving team that empowers people from all walks of life to live out a financial plan that brings them joy and peace. I have greatly enjoyed getting to know you – our client – and am thankful for opportunities I’ve had to care for your financial needs. In order to increase my ability to serve you, I am currently working towards becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner. Behind the scenes, I love being a part of the investment research team, preparing financial plans, and have been designated as the official Stonebridge coffee brewmaster.

Though a native of Colorado, I moved to Orlando in 2018 and love enjoying all that the Sunshine State has to offer with my wife and four kids. Some of our favorite things are exploring new beaches and finding the best donut shop wherever we go. When I’m at home, you will often find me driving my kids around on the mower, talking to neighbors, roasting coffee, or smoking meat on my Camp Chef.

March 2021 is when I was lucky enough to join the Stonebridge team, first as the Office Manager, and now as a Paraplanner. I am a former High School Social Studies teacher and a Florida transplant from Wisconsin. Go Packers! Supporting women has been a constant thread in my personal and professional life. I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Alverno College, in Milwaukee, WI, which is a Women’s College dedicated to “preparing women for lives of personal and professional distinction and meaningful engagement with the world.” My interest in finance began after a study abroad semester in 2008 which landed me hefty student loans. Out of necessity, I had to learn how to budget. A happy consequence was finding enjoyment in helping others with their financial goals.

My client interactions at Stonebridge are a true joy. I have a tender heart for those who have gone through financial hardships and that deep sigh of relief that comes when clients have their finances in order is a wonderful thing to experience. I plan to continue adding to my financial education one step at a time and see where it leads me. I am the unofficial party planner for the office and you can often find me conspicuously planning our next reason to celebrate–and isn’t there always a reason to celebrate?

Outside of work I am an Airforce wife, dog mom, and crochet enthusiast. I love living in downtown Orlando and can often be found riding my bike known as “The Pink Flamingo.” Having a four-day work week allows me to volunteer on Fridays at First Life Center for Pregnancy where I serve as a counselor. I look forward to meeting you and suggesting an Orlando restaurant or activity next time you’re at our office.

At age 18 I opened my first investment account, a Roth IRA, with encouragement from my parents. This one action has been the catalyst to my financial career. In August 2021, I joined the Stonebridge team as a paraplanner intern. Since graduating from the University of Central Florida in the Summer of 2022 I have now started my role as a paraplanner. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree of Finance from UCF in 2022. It was at UCF where I found financial planning to be my area of passion. My mission is to help as many people as I can throughout their unique financial journey. I love meeting our clients and hearing your story.

I obtained the professional designation, Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional, FPQP® in May of 2022. The FPQP® allows me to help serve you with a larger understanding of the financial planning process. I am a lifetime learner and plan to further my education and one day hope to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER.™

In my free time I enjoy supporting my alma mater UCF, by attending football, basketball and even the occasional baseball game. I have been attending UCF football games since August 2007, so I guess you could say I’m a big fan! Go Knights! I am a selfprofessed bookworm and founded the book club at UCF.... So if you need a good book recommendation let me know! I also enjoy traveling, some of my favorite countries I’ve have the pleasure of visiting include Italy, Greece, Egypt, and France.

Stonebridge has always felt like home! As a newlywed, my husband and I were gifted a study course on personal finance by my in-laws who encouraged us to start our marriage with a sound financial foundation. Soon after, I learned of the Office Manager position at Stonebridge. With my newfound interest in personal finance, I jumped at the opportunity and was fortunate to enough to get the job. That was the first time I joined the Stonebridge team! The year was 2009, and I had recently graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Communications.  In my time as Office Manager, I loved getting to know our clients, helping them schedule appointments, complete paperwork, and ensure the front office ran smoothly. I found the work to be fulfilling as I learned more about the wise stewardship of resources through the process of financial planning.

After a few years of enjoying my work with Stonebridge, the time came for me to step away to raise a family in Tennessee.  Although I left my position at the office, my husband and I remained clients and stayed in touch with the Stonebridge team through our review meetings. It has been so fun to see the growth Stonebridge has experienced over the years!

And now I am thrilled to be back on the Stonebridge team after a wonderful season of being a full-time caregiver for my children. My new role is remote paraplanning where I have the pleasure of meeting many of our clients during their phone or video reviews, supporting our advisors and serving our clients in a variety of ways.

My husband, Seth, I have been married for 15 years and we have four amazing children. In my “free time” you can find me waiting in the car line to pick my kids up from school, driving them all over town to their various activities, cheering them on at their games, and serving at our church. I love teaching children’s Sunday School and being a part of Women’s Bible studies. As a family, we love to hike the beautiful local trails and the trails in the Smokey Mountains!

My trail to Stonebridge took many turns. Studying Spanish in college led to the adventure of living in Latin America for a number of years. Nearly a decade of mentoring college students in personal growth in Venezuela, Mexico and Minnesota was gratifying. The welcomed move to sunny Orlando launched a new focus – a satisfying ten years of onboarding almost 30,000 college students to participate on short-term global ventures. I loved participating on a number of the trips as well – hearing peoples’ stories in diverse locations like Alaska, Arkansas and Australia.

After becoming a mom, my role changed again – I moved into financial stewardship coaching, which created a sweet combination of operational emphasis as well as mentoring younger women toward wise monetary practices and a specific plan. Seeing how progress toward financial contentment, order, and generosity freed up and brought relief to these women, created a natural transition and enthusiasm for me to be a part of the vision and work of Stonebridge Financial Planning Group.  As a paraplanner at Stonebridge I have the privilege of getting to know some about our clients’ journeys, and helping them move onward toward the practical financial next steps and eventually, the breath-taking vistas of realized dreams.

In my free time you can find me enjoying time with my daughters, or on a walk, run or bicycle ride around our rural neighborhood. If I had limitless time and resources, I’d crisscross the planet visiting family and friends, read stacks of fiction books with my girls, don my boots and hike many a mountain.

Lacie Riley

I am the Office Manager at Stonebridge Financial Planning Group.  In November of 2019, I got married and COVID quickly followed in March of 2020. I figured there was no better time to learn about finances, so I signed up for a financial planning course to learn budgeting 101. It was then that I discovered my passion for finance and began leading a small group at my church. Through church, I connected with another Stonebridge employee and was thankful to join the team in November of 2021.

Prior to joining Stonebridge, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration and a minor in Nonprofit Management. Charge On! Additionally, I worked at the UCF Student Health Center while obtaining a certification in Nutritional Therapy. Throughout that journey, I learned just how much I love interacting with people and getting to know their unique stories.

Another title I carry is “Director of Client Experience.” My favorite part of this role is getting to interact with clients every day and making sure they feel cared for and celebrated throughout every step of their financial journey. When I am not working, you can find me at home with my husband and 3 cats. I also enjoy traveling, especially going back to the Cayman Islands where the majority of my family lives.

Whenever you visit our office, I will be at the front, and I can’t wait to greet you!

Living in East Orlando and being a neighbor of Dianne’s and Rhonda’s led me to Stonebridge in 2018. I started as a part-time project employee and found the work to be so rewarding that I am now the full-time Account Specialist.

I grew up in southern Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics.  Go Illini!  My degree gave me the ability to manage offices in a variety of industries over the years, including restaurant, cellular, and HR/staffing.  After moving to Orlando in 1996, I met my husband on a blind date.  It worked out and we have a college-aged daughter that attends the University of Florida.  Go Gators!

While thoroughly enjoying my “stay at home” time for many years, I missed being a part of a team.  With lots of encouragement from everyone at Stonebridge and my family, I studied and passed the SIE exam (Securities Industry Essentials), which has given me financial knowledge to understand the details on account forms. My coworkers have given me many nicknames over the years which include: JB and the Paperwork Queen. Inevitably, you’ll receive a DocuSign coming from me if you’re a client and I’m always happy to help you understand the details.

On most weekends, you will find me doing yard work, enjoying a boat ride in the Merritt Island area, or heading to a beach.  When the cool weather rolls into FL, I love going to UF football games in the swamp and exploring Gainesville.

I have had the pleasure of being an educator for Orange County Public Schools for 37 years. I taught English at University High School for 19 years and then moved on to coordinating the Advanced Placement program for the district. Many of the connections and relationships I developed with other educators, parents and especially students, I still maintain today. I enjoy connecting with people and providing assistance and a sense of direction and comfort. When I decided to retire from education in 2020, I knew I wanted to continue helping people. When the opportunity to join Stonebridge presented itself, I didn’t hesitate! As a recent retiree, I understand the value of financial planning and am excited to be a part of a team who desires to help people plan, implement, and celebrate financial security.

In my other life, I’m blessed with an amazing husband, three independent and adventurous adult children and two spoiled (but loving) dogs. I enjoy kayaking, reading, knitting, and spending time with my family. I am a firm believer that a day at the beach can cure almost anything, but I’m always up for visiting someplace new!

I look forward to meeting and working with all our clients.

Business Manager

Christine Johnston

I’ve always been a details kind of person, wanting to track this and that, and make sure things were done the right way.  When my Mom described what she did in the Business Office of a local Prep School, it sounded like the best plan on earth – helping students and their families navigate the financial and administrative quagmire of paperwork, checklists and forms, while keeping track of numbers and documents for her employer – always serving both groups with grace and precision.   My academic strengths in the areas of science, logic and numbers and my Mom’s example of servanthood, led me to pursue a degree in Accounting at Thomas College in Waterville, Maine.

I worked as a CPA for a number of years before moving to the business offices in Corporate America.  I moved to Central Florida in 2000 and became the President and Treasurer of a local small business in the contracting industry.  Like my Mom, I enjoyed serving our customers, employees and vendors with accuracy and courtesy.  After our small business was sold, I was fortunate to find my current position as Business Manager at Stonebridge.  It is a pleasure and pure joy to work with our team which concentrates on meeting the needs and concerns of our clients. I enjoy my role of serving my team members behind the scenes so they can focus their energy on our clientele.

Away from the office, I love spending time with my two adult sons, participating in their hobbies like making homemade sausage and adding technological advancements to all areas of my home – I just hope nothing goes haywire or I’m in trouble!

My personal passion is sewing quilts, some of which you will see if you visit my office.  I also love quilting quilt tops for others with my long-arm quilting machine affectionately named Emillie.  Additionally, I enjoy taking trips back “home” to Western Massachusetts to visit family and friends.
